We're Coming Back
by Ian on 23 Mar 2021
At last, the news that we have all been waiting for, the vaccination programme appears to be working, numbers are going in the right direction and with the Government’s announcement of their Roadmap to Re-Opening there is finally a light at the end of the dark tunnel we have all been in for the last 12 months.
In line with the Government’s Roadmap we have been advised, all things being well, that we will be allowed to re-open our doors on 12th April. We have already started planning for this and can’t wait to welcome you back.
From the 12th we believe that both the gym and pool will be available for individual use or within household groups. Indoor Group Exercise classes will most likely commence from 17th May but we are currently looking at our options around the provision of some outdoor classes and we will of course continue to offer online classes via Bankside TV.
The decision to re-open fitness and leisure facilities in stage 2 underlines the Government’s faith, not only in the role exercise plays in supporting the NHS and the health of our local communities but also underlines their recognition of our sectors excellent safety record, demonstrated by our regular COVID-19 data reporting. When we re-open we will continue to adhere to the enhanced cleaning regime and social distancing measures that we adopted after the first lockdown.
Regular exercise has been shown to improve a person’s ability to regulate the immune system – essential for avoiding the severe symptoms of COVID-19 – and proven to boost vaccine efficacy.
UK Active data from 2,000 operators shows prevalence of the virus among visitors who have used facilities remains extremely low – an overall rate of just 1.7 cases per 100,000 visits, measured from 75 million visits across the UK (25th July – 27th December)
We will be in touch over the coming weeks to provide more information surrounding our re-opening but in the meantime;
Stay Safe & Stay Active
We’re looking forward to seeing you soon.
