We are taking additional precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all our members and staff – this is our number one priority.
We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and following the advice provided by Public Health England (PHE). In addition, we are working very closely with our industry governing body UKActive and other gym operators in the UK.
Bankside Fit Hub is committed to providing our members with a safe and hygienic space to exercise in and we are taking this situation extremely seriously. Our colleagues have been extensively briefed on what actions they need to take, as per Government guidance, to reduce the risk of the virus spreading.
To answer some of the more common questions:
Q. What actions are the Club taking to maximise the safety of its members and staff?
A.In line with PHE guidance, we have increased the level of cleaning and hygiene around the Club, including: Increasing the frequency of cleaning and sanitisation in the Club, especially high touch
areas such as door handles, lockers, equipment etc. Ensuring soap dispensers and hand sanitisers remain filled Providing additional cleaning materials to allow members to self-clean equipment before and after use Educating and eminding members and staff of the importance of good hygiene in the Club If we are notified of any issue in the Club, or if another member who has used the Club
contracts the virus, we will undertake a full deep clean.
Q. What can members do to help?
A. Members are encouraged to help reduce the spread of the virus through good personal hygiene. This includes: Frequent hand washing (wash your hands for 20 seconds) and hand sanitising during your visits Making full use of the soap, sanitisers and cleaning items available Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and dispose of the tissuein the bin after use
Familiarise yourself with the latest guidance from PHE and do not visit the gym if you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and are advised to self-isolate. Do not visit the Club for 14 days if someone in your household has displayed symptoms of COVID-19.
Q. Are you open as normal?
A.Yes we are remaining open. We have reduced the numbers in our classes and have taken various bits of equipment out of action to allow for Social Distancing. We may have to amend our timetable and/or opening hours if we face staff shortages and we will communicate these with as much notice as possible.
Q. Can I bring my own cleaning supplies?
A. We have a robust cleaning schedule in place. Whilst it may be prudent to carry your own hand sanitiser we would ask members to only use the cleaning solutions provided by the Club on the equipment.
Q. What happens if I need to freeze my membership?
A. Throughout this difficult time, we want to offer assurances to our members and have decided to make the enhanced freeze policy available to all club members during COVID-19
• The Club will not charge a freeze fee for any member activating a freeze during the Corona Virus pandemic.
• Any ‘Paid in Full’ Member requesting to freeze, will have the unused time added to the end of their membership term.
• Any ‘Monthly Direct Debit’ Paying Member (in or out of contract) requesting to freeze, can do so for a minimum of 1 calendar week to a maximum of 3 calendar months. The nominated freeze period will be actioned on their next available payment.
